Intensive Care Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) in Alberta, Canada.
As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to infants and their families. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated professionals to provide leadership and support in a complex and unpredictable care environment.
The GPRH NICU is a Level 2 unit that provides care for neonates born at 32 weeks gestation and up to 28 days of age. Our unit consists of 21 care spaces, making it the only NICU north of the Edmonton area.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication skills, critical thinking ability, time management skills, and a commitment to best-practice and family-centered care. You will also need to be trained and attend high-risk deliveries.
The salary for this position is competitive, with an estimated hourly rate of $35.87-$43.82 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per year.
Requirements for this role include:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, you will be required to complete additional training programs.
