We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics team at Alberta Health Services. As a Prenatal Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care to expectant mothers and their families.
Job SummaryThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse with a passion for prenatal care to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to patients throughout their pregnancy journey, from antepartum to postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, interventions, and education to promote healthy outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and develop individualized plans of care.
- Conduct fetal health surveillance and provide support to patients experiencing complications during pregnancy or childbirth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A diploma or degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or eligibility for registration.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands simultaneously.
- Ability to work shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.
The salary for this position is approximately $43.82 per hour, based on current provincial wage scales. Additionally, you may be eligible for a remote retention allowance of up to $3000 per year, paid on an hourly basis.
