Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support our construction projects from an administrative and business perspective. As a key member of our Construction team, you will work closely with our Director of Construction and other team members to deliver high-quality projects that meet our internal and external clients' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Review project drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure coordination between disciplines.
  • Estimating and Tendering: Develop complete estimates on selected projects, including site visits, quantity take-off, pricing, and presentation of the estimate for management's review.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Contact trades and suppliers regarding tender invitations, pricing, addenda, and tender/bid closings. Prepare detailed tender/bid analysis for each scope of work.
  • Project Setup and Management: Perform project setups, distribute project documents, and manage and coordinate project contracts on Procore system.
  • Cost Control and Reporting: Monitor expenditures effectively, review invoices in detail, and manage labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.
  • Project Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare and participate in the creation and updating of project budgets, both initial concept budgets using historical unit rates and preliminary budgets using trade inputs.
  • Project Reporting: Prepare project reports weekly, monthly, and as required to update stakeholders on the project status.
  • Procurement and Contract Administration: Coordinate the procurement process, draft and prepare contracts, and track changes and additions to contractual agreements.
  • General and Administrative Duties: Perform general and administrative duties as required by the construction team.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with the project team, clients, consultants, and trade contractors/sub-contractors.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive construction experience, preferably with a general contractor or builder-developer in British Columbia.
  • Education: Post-secondary education (University Degree or Technology Diploma) in Construction Management, Building Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial construction.
  • Language Skills: Excellent knowledge of the Lower Mainland and BC construction industry, and BC Building Code.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills and computer proficiency in Procore, MS Project, MS Office (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint), and strong skills in Excel.
