Job Overview

Kiewit's McNally district is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions for temporary works and construction methods. Your expertise in structural analysis, load calculations, and design drawings will ensure the safe and efficient execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, including support of excavation systems, cofferdams, and heavy lift plans.
  • Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning.
  • Design waterfront structures, such as wharves and marine cofferdams, and perform structural analysis to ensure stability during construction.
  • Develop and review design drawings and calculations, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.

Requirements

  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree or greater in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with expertise in temporary structures and/or construction engineering.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within Canada.
  • Strong academic knowledge of structural engineering, with experience in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD and STAAD.
