About This Role:

The Principal Software Test Engineer will join a highly effective product quality team, working side-by-side with developers in an Agile environment, providing technical guidelines to product test teams, working closely with managers, test leads, and engineers globally by developing test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interface, algorithms, and back-end data handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product by proving system functionality, verifying business and user requirements are met in Electrophysiology domain area.
  2. Acting as test lead for projects in determining test methodology, test strategy and test data setup.
  3. Design and develop innovative test automation tools.
  4. Leading technical strategies for test automation teams.
  5. Execute automated test scripts.
  6. Ensure that tests have been conducted in accordance with written procedures.
  7. Enhance the test automation framework and debug issues discovered in Jenkins builds.
  8. Plan the new test cases development for various software releases.
  9. Document test results and write test reports.
  10. Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements in a bug tracking system.
  11. Provide technical guidelines, share knowledge, and demonstrate product areas to other team members on an ad hoc basis.
  12. Work closely with the software development team, hardware engineering team, field support team, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree along with 7+ years of software test engineer or related experience or 5+ years with a master's degree or advanced degree, preferably BS/MS in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle and test methodology.
  3. Experience with design and development of test automation frameworks.
  4. Strong programming experience is required such as Python, MATLAB, C or C++.
  5. Prior experience with source code management tools such as Git and BitBucket.
  6. Deep understanding of Linux operating system.
  7. Experience with test automation tools such as Squish and knowledge of Qt.
  8. Demonstrated experience executing unit tests, performance tests, static analysis and memory leak analysis.
  9. Experience working in Agile Scrum development environment.
  10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A strong product quality and test lead experience preferably in medical device domain.
  2. Experience with ultrasound and other imaging medical devices.
  3. A natural attention to detail and a penchant for organizing and documenting.
  4. A good learner who can master complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  5. Ability to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
  7. Demonstrated experience communicating both technical and non-technical information across teams and departments.
  8. Follow company policy regarding ISO and FDA documentation and compliance for medical devices.
