We are seeking a skilled Millwright Technician to join our team at GERDAU S.A. as a key member of our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant's mechanical equipment, performing routine maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, install, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical equipment in the plant to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Service the mechanical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to prevent downtime and ensure efficient production.
- Receive and execute instructions, prints, and work orders for scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work.
- Determine the best course of action to minimize production interruptions and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Advise on the necessity of immediate equipment shutdown to prevent damage or when continued operation will not cause harm.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
- Perform regular rounds and checks of machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure machine functions operate within normal specifications.
- Responsible for performing assigned maintenance work on large and small producing units, including operating power-driven mobile equipment and ordinary crane hooking.
- Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic/Millwright – A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario is required.
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with exposure to Bearings, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication, Rotating Equipment.
- Strong communication and work ethic, ability to work in a team and with other trades.
- Basic computer experience.
- Hourly Rate: Competitive rate with opportunities for growth.
