Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Quality and Innovation Professional. In this role, you will lead quality improvement activities focused on acute oncology and patient flow, ensuring safe and high-quality care. You will work closely with the Cancer Care Quality and Innovation Manager to advance the Cancer Program strategy and implement quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Advance the Cancer Program strategy by enhancing infrastructure, data, and quality improvement projects focused on acute oncology.
  • Assist in selecting, analyzing, and reporting quality-related performance indicators to monitor program and unit-level performance.
  • Lead large- and small-scale quality improvement projects using proven methodologies such as process mapping, PDSA cycles, and control charts.
  • Manage projects focused on innovation in care and initiatives promoting quality improvement at the program-wide and local patient care unit level.
  • Lead change in models of care to support future care delivery.
  • Complete quality audits, observations, and chart reviews to identify issues and facilitate audit and feedback.
  • Provide mentorship, leadership, guidance, and planning for quality initiatives while advocating for clinical standardization.
  • Work with stakeholders to integrate clinical best practices, legislative requirements, and policies into quality priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in healthcare, with previous experience in quality, safety, and performance improvement methods.
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives within healthcare is essential.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others on quality improvement methodologies for successful outcomes.
  • Experience working with physicians and other clinicians is necessary.
  • Project planning and implementation experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating a major change initiative in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated change management skills, including consulting, negotiating, and influencing.
  • Knowledge of hospital organizational structure and processes preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $84,068 - $105,086 per annum, commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN's compensation policy.
