About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our department, you will provide administrative support to our team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to the department, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and expense tracking.
  2. Assist with event planning, including venue research, catering, and logistics.
  3. Develop and maintain filing systems, manuals, and other materials.
  4. Support managers with project assignments and perform other administrative tasks as required.
  5. Perform duties of a minor nature related to the above duties, which do not affect the rating of the job.
Requirements
  1. High school graduation including post-secondary courses in office administration and Microsoft Office products, plus completion of post-secondary accounting courses and two (2) years directly related experience.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  3. Fast, accurate typing skills (60 words per minute) and ability to format various types of correspondence and reports.
  4. Good command of the English language and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and follow high-level instructions.
  6. Previous experience with event planning for large groups and familiarity with energy utility operations.
