As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining established quality control standards, compiling records for analytical study, and working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG's public outreach, engagement, and education efforts as part of the company's commitment to growing its social license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide chemical and environmental technical expertise as it relates to the workplace, including workplace hazards.
  • Work with environmental and health and safety legislation and chemical and waste management as it affects the workplace.
  • Carry out both routine and non-standard tests and analyses, associated with station chemistry, hazardous material identification, water treatment, and environmental monitoring processes associated within an industrial plant environment.
  • Make recommendations associated with system chemistry, including the water treatment plant and other areas of the station.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent, plus two years of further study in a community college in a Chemical Technician Laboratory program or Environmental Technician program.
  • A minimum of 2+ years laboratory experience in a related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Related Industries such as: Nuclear Generating Stations, Thermal Generating Stations, Refineries/Steel Mills/Paper Mills, Chemical manufacturers and Nuclear Laboratories
