Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our team. As a Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to First Nations individuals, families, and communities
  • Develop and implement public health programs to promote health and prevent disease
  • Work with community members to identify health needs and develop strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide emergency care services
  • Participate in health promotion activities to educate community members about healthy lifestyles and disease prevention

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Must be or working towards Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes
