About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic Helper to join our team at Mekaniko Auto Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest level of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Test and adjust units to specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
  • Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Provide customer service
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  • Test automotive systems and components
  • Road test motor vehicles
  • Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Discuss work with supervisor
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
Requirements
  • Tire, wheel and rim mechanic certification
  • Experience with welding, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of frame straightening, front end components, and 4-wheel drive systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to work overtime
