SimplySmart Child Care Centre & Montessori/Iroquois is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Director to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to our educators, ensuring the smooth operation of our centre, and implementing the requirements set out by the Ministry of Education and Public Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide staff with support and guidance in all areas of their classroom;
  • Control the day-to-day operations of the centre;
  • Assist in a classroom with an understanding of ratios and requirements;
  • Identify the needs of the classroom with regards to set up and materials;
  • Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner within 24 hours;
  • Provide staff with feedback based on observations in the program;
  • Assist staff in conducting parent/teacher interviews;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and coworkers;
  • Participate in school special activities and celebrations;
  • Provide quality tours to new families looking to enroll in SimplySmart child care;
  • Ensure that the centre is clean and any maintenance issues are documented and reported for repair;
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times;
  • Follows and implements health and safety through the use of various tools including daily observation forms, sanitary practices forms, medication forms, and environmental assessment tools;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;
  • Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education and attends professional development courses and workshops;
  • Ensure the program compliance with all Ministry and program standards, i.e. CCEYA, CCMA;
  • Responsible and independent;
  • Creative, hard-working team player, energetic, and flexible;
  • Have a very positive and professional attitude and be able to work and contribute to our school and community.
Qualifications
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator designation (Required)
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in a childcare environment teaching in a classroom;
  • Experience working with children in a Montessori environment is an asset;
  • Standard First Aid CPR C+;
  • Vulnerable Sector Check;
  • Immunization up to date (including a 2-step TB test).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00/hour to $24.00/hour
