Bank Operations Specialist

**Job Overview:**
Tremont Credit Union is seeking an experienced Bank Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Deposit Operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bank's day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities:
- Achieving Accuracy in ACH Processing: Conduct daily ACH processing, verifying receipt of incoming ACH files, returns, and reversal requests. Balance collections and distributions, record settlement dates, and file totals to transmittals for proper posting.
- Exception Handling and Reporting: Process and handle exception reports, Government Reclamations, and Death notices. Reconcile GL accounts for ACH processing and generate corrections as needed.
- Plastic Card Management: Order, reorder, and maintain hot cards and pins. Handle ATM transaction matters, including card maintenance and disputes. Process disputes and chargebacks, monitor accounts for unusual activity, and resolve member issues for debit and credit cards.
- IRA Administration: Maintain IRA membership accounts for accuracy and completeness of year-end IRS tax reporting. Process IRA death claims in a timely manner, administer the IRA program, and update the IRA direct system with the core system for accurate reporting.
- Account Activity and Maintenance: Review, confirm, and process share drafts, stop payments, Remote Mobile Deposits, Shared Branching transactions, online new account openings, death claims, levies, garnishments, bankruptcy requests, maturity CD requests, daily reports, and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager. Provide Trust account and Ecommerce support, process daily reports and settlements, and maintain address change reports and returned mail logs.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year related experience in Credit Union Retail Operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or software applications and progress toward proficiency in SaaS currently used by Tremont Credit Union and assigned to this position.
- Ability to perform responsibilities accurately and timely with moderate supervision, with minimal reminders and corrections.
- Evident habits of organized workspace and materials, detail-orientation, clear, friendly, tactful, and effective written and oral communication, and critical thinking to evaluate sources of information and draw conclusions.
Education, Training, Certifications, or Licensing:
- High School diploma, GED, or foreign country equivalent.
- Certification and credentials from attending vendor IRA training for IRAs. Train and keep up to date on all regulation changes.
- Continuing on-site and remote training on compliance and best practices.
