About the Role

The University of Toronto seeks a skilled Computer Science Graduate Admissions Specialist to join its Faculty of Arts & Science. As a key member of the Department of Computer Science, you will play a lead role in ensuring admission operations and recruitment initiatives align with the strategic goals of the department within the highly competitive graduate education market.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Determining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processes
  • Applying established standards when administering a process for consistent evaluation of applications
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Providing detailed information regarding financial awards
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities
  • Developing plans that support recruitment strategies
  • Researching potential target markets to inform recruitment plans
  • Delivering student recruitment presentations

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience, with a minimum of four years of progressive related experience in a student admissions environment in a post-secondary institution. Demonstrated experience reviewing domestic and international graduate admission applications, assessing and advising prospective students on admissions and academic requirements is essential.

The Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced professional with excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills. You possess superior computer and data skills, manipulating and analyzing data, and producing statistical information and data visualization for decision-making. A proven track record of effectively liaising with service providers to ensure organizational needs are met is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated at $79,874 annually, with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to the University policies and guidelines.
