Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Coordinator to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing maintenance work, ensuring that all aspects of the contract are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance work to ensure that all aspects of the contract are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Capital Works Manager to determine the best approach for bringing assets into contract compliance.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Supervise maintenance crews and ensure that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Respond to incident emergencies and coordinate the work of on-site responders.
  • Coordinate with the fleet teams and mechanics to ensure that the fleet is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Manage and monitor highway project assets and materials.
  • Identify opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Create and manage successful completion of all work orders.
  • Review claims for damages on the highway system for validity and arrange for collection of data.
  • Work with field coordinators to ensure accurate documentation and reporting of work as per contractual requirements and company policies.
  • Work with field coordinators to manage inventory for consumables.
  • Detail directly with ministry staff, other contractors, external agencies, and the general public to respond to complaints and issues.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Capital Works Manager to identify and qualify subcontractors and assist in negotiating contract parameters.
  • Assist and monitor routine work plan activities such as traffic control and maintenance work.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum five years work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry is required. Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record (required).
Work Environment

The incumbent will split working time between office and field work.

Office Environment

  • The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand and/or walk for short periods of time.

Field Environment

  • The employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
