We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at Central Okanagan Property Management LTD. As a Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth and even finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply coats of compound: Apply successive coats of compound to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Sand seams and joints: Sand seams and joints to create a smooth and even surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces: Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering, ensuring they are free from dust and debris.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces: Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure they are dry and ready for finishing.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh: Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Tape over joints: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Finish corners and angles: Finish corners and angles, creating decorative designs in the finish coat if required.
  • Mix plaster ingredients: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels: Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
  • Smooth out excess compound: Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials: Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work setting: Commercial, Industrial, and Residential.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Language: English.
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week.
