Drywall Taper Job Description

Villaguer Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team. As a Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even surface.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Utilize laser alignment system
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, in dusty environments, and standing for extended periods. You will be required to work in various locations, including commercial and residential sites.

Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

This role requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and repetitive tasks. You must be physically capable of performing the duties of the job.

Personal Suitability:

We are looking for a team player who is dependable, reliable, and has excellent oral communication skills.

Workplace Information:

This is a permanent, on-the-road job with a 40-hour workweek. The work language is English.
