About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Finishing Assistant to join our team at Vaughan Metal Polishing Limited. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality metal products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal surfaces.
  • Transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment, ensuring efficient and safe movement of materials.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, and other metal workers in their tasks.
  • Sort and categorize metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials for processing.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools, maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Clean machines and work areas, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Load and unload vehicles, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of materials.
  • Polish metal products to a mirror finish, meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Read and interpret work orders, ensuring accurate completion of tasks.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent employment with a regular schedule of 33 to 40 hours per week.
  • Fluency in English as the primary language of communication.
