Job Title: Operations Technician - Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Systems Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Operations Technician to join our team at CNL Whiteshell. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining nuclear and non-nuclear systems, ensuring the safe and effective operation of all buildings and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain nuclear and non-nuclear systems, including equipment and facilities.
  • Oversee routine preventive maintenance and complete emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Recognize trouble symptoms associated with equipment failure and take mitigating action.
  • Maintain familiarity with site operations, utilities, and mechanical/electrical data.
  • Ensure Site Operations equipment or systems are safely de-energized and isolated in accordance with the CNL Lock Out Tag Out procedure.
  • Contribute to identifying and planning necessary maintenance work for Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Operations equipment and buildings.
  • Authorize work permits and provide oversight of work conducted under the CNL Work Permit system.
  • Ensure work is done safely in compliance with applicable regulations and company procedures.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Relevant technician/technologist diploma from a recognized college and/or 2-3 years of experience in process operations.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Good working knowledge of building operations, water treatment, and distribution, waste water collection and treatment, electrical distribution.
  • Computer software packages such as Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of CNL support/compliance programs (Radiation Protection, Environmental Protection, Occupational Health and Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness).

Working Conditions:

  • Must possess normal physical agility necessary to perform all aspects of the work.
  • Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing and using equipment as required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various temperatures and confined spaces.
