Job Summary
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of the AML compliance program for Alberta's new online gambling model.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an effective AML compliance program to support the conduct and management of online gaming, ensuring all federal AML reporting obligations are met.
- Lead the AML compliance program for online gaming, monitoring its effectiveness and identifying measures to address potential gaps.
- Provide advice to executive management on AML obligations related to online gaming, including strategies to ensure compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations, and FINTRAC reporting requirements.
- Lead a team to meet Alberta's online gambling obligations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations, including oversight of training requirements.
- Provide advice to industry stakeholders to ensure effective compliance and AML/suspicious transaction reporting.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the development of effective reporting systems and IT platforms, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and provincial legislation, regulation, and policies.
- Build a high-performing team by establishing necessary training, unit objectives, priorities, work plans, and deadlines, and act as the subject matter expert while supporting team members.
Requirements
- Extensive background in AML compliance and knowledge of the requirements established under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead a team.
- Excellent communication and advisory skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
