Tax Manager Job Description

About the Job

The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading our tax team on client engagements, completing reviews of tax sections for working paper files, and prioritizing workflow to ensure timely completion.

  • Lead team on client engagements for tax related activities.
  • Complete review of tax sections for working paper files including corporate and personal tax returns, charity T2s, and information returns.
  • Prioritize workflow including utilization of tax seniors and other staff, as well as recognizing and implementing more efficient work processes.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Apply Income Tax Act and other tax regulations to given client situations.
  2. Conduct tax research as required and provide proactive tax planning alternatives.
  3. Resolve tax issues with staff, partners, CRA, and clients for timely completion.
  4. Answer technical questions and inquiries from Tax and Audit staff and clients, clearly explaining reasoning, process, and results.
Requirements
  • 5 years post In Depth tax practical experience with exposure to a broad range of client tax issues.
  • Proven research, investigative, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in software programs including Caseware, Caseview, Taxprep, and MS Office.
