Job Title: Taxation Specialist - Corporate Tax

Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Taxation Specialist to join our team in Markham, ON. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax planning and compliance for our corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns and partnership information returns using Tax Prep software
  • Develop and implement tax provisions and deferred tax calculations to support external financial statements
  • Provide expert guidance on tax planning initiatives to minimize corporate taxes and reduce risks associated with filing positions
  • Analyze and provide recommendations on legislative and regulatory Canadian income tax, commodity, and retail sales tax issues
  • Work closely with external tax advisors on US tax compliance matters
  • Review monthly sales tax returns and working papers
  • Prepare a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast for the Company and its subsidiaries

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate tax
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and CPA designation; completion of In-depth Tax Course would be an asset
  • Experience with preparing Canadian corporate tax returns (T2) and partnership information returns (T5013), preferably using Tax Prep software
  • Successful track record working in team environments with proven ability to act as a business partner

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience
