Job Title: Registered Nurse - Mental Health Specialist

Humber River Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Mental Health Program as a Mental Health Specialist. This is a full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, providing exceptional care to patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and reviewing external/internal mental health referrals, conducting intake screener assessments, and providing patients with relevant mental health and addictions community resources. They will also deliver patient educational groups and present complex referrals/assessments in team clinical rounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and review external/internal mental health referrals
  • Conduct intake screener assessments and provide patients with relevant resources
  • Deliver patient educational groups
  • Present complex referrals/assessments in team clinical rounds
  • Participate in department-related projects or committees to improve intake processes
Qualifications:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS/CPR certification
  • BScN preferred
  • Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing required, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
  • 2 years of recent mental health/addictions experience
