Job Title: Child and Youth Repatriation Coordinator

About the Role:

The Saskatoon Tribal Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child and Youth Repatriation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Well-Being Resource Development team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to support the repatriation and reunification of children and youth in care with their families and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with children and youth in care, their families, and community members to ensure a smooth transition and successful reunification.
  • Collaborate with Ministry of Social Services staff, community partners, and other stakeholders to identify and address the unique needs of each child or youth.
  • Develop and implement culturally relevant programs and services to support the well-being and reintegration of children and youth in care.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, including community members, MSS staff, and STC leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, special education, and attendance.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Work (BISW or BSW) or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in prevention or protection services, with a focus on working with high-risk youth.
  • Proven experience building trust with youth and families, and working collaboratively with community partners.
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture, history, and governance structures is an asset.
  • Membership in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers is required.
