Job Summary

Health Careers in Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled Child Life Therapist to join our team. As a Child Life Therapist, you will play a vital role in reducing the impact of stressful or traumatic life events and situations that affect the development, health, and well-being of infants, children, youth, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, and implement evidence-based, developmentally and psychologically appropriate programming and interventions to prepare clients and families for any diagnostic or treatment procedures.
  • Advocate for and represent Child Life on committees, interdisciplinary rounds, conferences, hospital, and community initiatives where there is concern for the psychosocial, emotional, and developmental needs of children, youth, and families.
  • Function as a member of the Child Life Program Department and as a member of an assigned healthcare team, in accordance with the professional standards of practice of the Association of Child Life Professionals and the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an ACLP-endorsed program.
  • Registered/eligible registration with the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
  • Registered/eligible for registration as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Child Life Therapist.
  • HSAS membership as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
