Mechanical Project Design Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Design Engineer to join our team at MCW Group of Companies. As a key member of our project coordination and management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare contract documents, including specifications, to meet project requirements.
- Conduct site visits during the construction phase to monitor progress and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with the field review team to maintain ASHRAE compliance and LEED standards where applicable.
- Update project schedules regularly to reflect progress and any changes.
- Evaluate shop drawing reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager, escalating any resource issues as needed.
- Assist in sourcing new work and maintaining existing client relationships.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensing in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia.
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering and/or design coordination in the consulting industry.
- Proven experience in multi-disciplined project coordination and management.
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT is an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of current engineering principles and practices, complemented by strong project management skills.
- Experience conducting site visits would be beneficial.
- Able to communicate complex ideas effectively to non-engineer colleagues.
- Familiarity with Canadian/American Engineering standards.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- High level of sound judgment and decision-making ability.
Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience.
