Technical Operations Manager

Magna is seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager to join our team in the Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group. As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the toolroom operations, including scheduling, prioritizing work, problem-solving, and general administrative duties when the Toolroom Supervisor is not available.
In this leadership role, you will also be responsible for the build and maintenance of tools, dies, and other equipment. You will assist with follow-up on tooling timelines, help with time sheets, and perform general follow-up tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a skilled trade or equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience in a tool shop environment. You should have a working knowledge of tool materials, tool room equipment, and best practices for manufacturing tooling and equipment.
You will be responsible for direct activities of the department, including the building and maintenance of machinery, tools, and fixtures within specified time constraints. You will maintain close communication and coordination with other departments and shifts to ensure priorities are met.
As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quality standards are communicated and enforced within the department. You will analyze new tooling designs for quality, technical, and economic feasibility. You will review budgetary spending per tool and establish the most efficient way to produce on time and on budget.
