Job Title: Topographic Survey Technician

We are seeking a skilled Topographic Survey Technician to join our team at KB Civil Constructors Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating survey instruments and devices, participating in field surveys, and supervising drafting and technical staff. They will also be required to keep survey information in systematic order, assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys, and prepare detailed drawings, charts, and plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate survey instruments and devices to collect data and measurements.
  • Participate in field surveys to gather information and conduct site assessments.
  • Supervise drafting and technical staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Keep survey information in systematic order to ensure easy access and retrieval.
  • Assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, charts, and plans to present findings and recommendations.
  • Analyze latitude, longitude, and angles to compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours, and areas to a specific scale.
  • Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys.
  • Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations, and contours.
  • Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities.
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in survey instruments and devices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of outdoor environments, including fields, forests, and urban areas. They will also be required to work in an office environment to prepare reports and presentations.

Language

The primary language of work is English.

Hours of Work

The successful candidate will be required to work 30 to 40 hours per week.

Availability

The successful candidate must be available for shift or on-call work.
