At Onus Talent, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Leadership Specialist to join our dynamic public accounting team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will lead client engagements, manage financial reporting, and oversee tax preparation and audit tasks for a diverse portfolio of clients.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work with a diverse range of clients, including privately held companies, owner-managed businesses, and non-profit organizations. You will be responsible for advising clients on accounting solutions, providing value-added recommendations, and leading client engagements to ensure accurate financial statements.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards, auditing practices, and tax regulations. Your excellent organizational and time management skills will enable you to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute client engagements, including planning and preparing financial statements
  • Advise clients on accounting solutions and provide value-added recommendations
  • Perform audit procedures and prepare working papers for financial statement audits
  • Prepare personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns in compliance with Canadian regulations
  • Review small to medium-sized engagements to ensure quality and timeliness
Required Qualifications
  • CPA designation in Canada
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards, auditing practices, and tax regulations
  • At least 2 years of experience at a CPA firm in Canada (excluding sole proprietorship or self-employment)
Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
