At EnviroCareers, we are a niche environmental consulting firm that specializes in environmental impact assessments, project permitting and management, regulatory engagement, Indigenous stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance. Our primary focus is on the mining and mineral exploration sector, but we also support projects in renewables, heavy industrial, transportation, and construction.

The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in leading environmental assessments and permitting processes, as well as supporting ongoing site compliance with environmental regulations. This role involves engaging directly with clients, collaborating with technical experts, and managing subconsultants. Experience in designing research frameworks, interpreting data, and authoring management plans is a valuable asset. Familiarity with environmental impact assessments, whether through supporting or leading such assessments, is beneficial.

Key job requirements include strong technical writing skills in English and effective communication and project management skills to successfully execute multi-disciplinary projects. This role is 100% remote, and you can work from anywhere in BC, YT, or ON.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Support: Ability to work effectively within a remote team, collaborating closely with senior staff and project managers.
  • Health and Safety: Experience in preparing for and conducting site visits and fieldwork with a focus on health and safety protocols.
  • Report and Proposal Writing: Proficiency in drafting reports and proposals for various project needs.
  • Environmental Management Plans: Experience in writing and executing environmental management plans.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to contribute to innovative and collaborative multidisciplinary projects.
  • Mentorship: Capacity to mentor staff in skills related to environmental impact assessment and research.
Requirements:
  • Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences with a focus on restoration and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the resource industry, or B.Eng./M.Eng. in mining, environmental, or geotechnical engineering with 5+ years of experience in the mining industry, including environmental impact assessments.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the mining industry.
  • Professional Registration: Registered professional or eligible for immediate registration, with environmental impact assessment listed as a key area of competency.
  • Willingness to Learn: Openness to expanding expertise in environmental impact assessment, research design, and the application of innovative technologies.
