Job Overview


We seek a seasoned expert to spearhead our economic research initiatives, focusing on transition economies and emerging markets. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to strategic decision-making.


About the Role


The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and execute a high-quality research agenda aligned with our business objectives

  • Publish academic research in top-tier journals and present findings at industry conferences

  • Provide thought leadership on economic policy issues and translate research into actionable insights for senior management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement large-scale research projects, including surveys and impact assessments

  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the development of OCE analysts and interns

  • Foster strong relationships with academia, think tanks, and other international financial institutions

  • Organize research events and represent the Bank at high-level forums

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or Finance from a leading university

  • A strong track record of research in fields relevant to EBRD, including development economics, industrial organization, economic growth, labor economics, international trade, environmental economics, or finance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams and independently

  • Experience in team management and leadership, preferably in a research-oriented environment

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, at the standard required for professional publication and official representation
