Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Family Practitioner to join our team at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre. As a Family Practitioner - Correctional Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing primary health care and mental health services to clients in correctional centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality primary health care services to clients in correctional centres, including medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical and mental health needs of clients.
- Conduct regular health checks and provide health education to clients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies and procedures related to healthcare services.
Requirements
- Eligible for provisional or full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory.
- Experience in working with patients with complex mental health and addiction issues.
- Experience in correctional health and/or additional certification or training is an asset.
