Family Practitioner, Prince George Regional Correctional Centre

We are seeking a Family Practitioner to join our team at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre. As a Family Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing primary health care services to clients in correctional centres, including mental health and substance use support.
About the Role:This is a part-time opportunity that will allow you to build your professional practice portfolio in the area of mental health and addictions, without the overhead/start-up costs that come with operating a specialty clinic. You will work within an inter-professional team, with full access to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to support delivery of comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities:- Provide primary health care services to clients in correctional centres, including mental health and substance use support
- Work within an inter-professional team to provide quality care for clients and help them live an active life during their time in custody and as they reintegrate into the community
- Develop and implement treatment plans for clients with complex mental health and substance use challenges
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients
- Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory
- Experience in working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties
- Experience in Correctional Health and/or additional certification or training
