As a Therapy Assistant with Alberta Health Services, you'll be part of an award-winning trans-disciplinary program providing specialized stroke care in the client's home. Under supervision from the Clinical Coordinator of the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team, you'll implement trans-disciplinary treatment programs developed by the client and team. Your focus will be on trans-disciplinary care planning and assessing outcomes.
You'll work independently, with a high degree of autonomy, within the trans-disciplinary model, emphasizing Client and Family Centered Care. Responsibilities include client teaching, consultation, in-servicing, communicating with family, co-workers, and other healthcare team members, as well as documentation.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate.
Description:
As a Therapy Assistant, you'll collaborate with audiologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, recreation therapists, or speech-language pathologists under their supervision. You'll contribute to effective rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the health continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness/disability, end-of-life care) for all ages. Non-client service provision is also essential.
This role requires working effectively with internal and external partners, demonstrating professionalism, and strong ethics in client-centered care and team participation. Reflective thinking and lifelong learning are encouraged to enhance individual and team competency.
Required Qualifications:
A diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Salary Information:
We offer a competitive salary range of $42-$55 per hour, depending on experience. In addition, the Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually provides further compensation for working remotely.
