The Opportunity

Perimeter Institute is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its advancement effort in developing and executing a strategic plan to secure private funding. The Chief Advancement Officer will report to the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for building a diverse donor base, fostering ongoing engagement, and delivering at the highest levels.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in private fundraising, with expertise in developing and implementing bespoke strategies to secure significant gifts. They will work closely with the Board, Director, and senior leadership to deepen internal coordination and capacity, ultimately driving Perimeter's mission to advance diversity in the sciences and bring together the world's most brilliant minds.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy to secure private funding
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, Board members, and senior leadership
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to deepen internal coordination and capacity
  4. Provide strategic guidance and support to the Board and senior leadership

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in private fundraising, with expertise in developing and implementing bespoke strategies. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a master's degree or higher being an asset.
