Job Title: Vice-President Academic

First Nations University of Canada is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Vice-President Academic. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in shaping the academic direction of the institution.

About the Role:

The Vice-President Academic will provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic programs and services at First Nations University of Canada. This will include overseeing the development and implementation of academic policies, procedures, and initiatives that support the university's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic programs and services
  • Oversee the development and implementation of academic policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote academic excellence and student success
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support academic programs and services
  • Represent the university at national and international levels
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a PhD or professional graduate degree, or comparable terminal degree, and ideally qualifications commensurate with an appointment with tenure at the rank of full professor, or at minimum the rank of Associate Professor. The ideal candidate is a recognized scholar with demonstrated organizational leadership and administrative management skills, and experience in a senior role as an academic leader including a Dean or higher, an Associate Dean, a Chair of a department, or as a Director of an Institute or Centre, or an equivalent academic framework or institution.
