Job Title: Vice-President Academic

First Nations University of Canada is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Vice-President Academic. This key role will provide strategic direction and leadership for the academic mission of the institution, ensuring student success and academic excellence within a culturally inclusive First Nations environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the strategic direction for the University's academic programs and services.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of academic quality, including curriculum design and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, equity, and diversity, promoting Indigenous knowledges and perspectives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to advance the University's academic mission.
  • Oversee the functioning of academic units, campuses, and community-based programs.
Requirements:
  • PhD or professional graduate degree, or comparable terminal degree.
  • Senior leadership experience in academia, preferably as a Dean or higher.
  • Proven track record of academic program development and strategic enrollment management.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, values, and traditions, with a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, academic institutions, and governments.
