Job Title: Grill Cook

We are seeking a skilled Grill Cook to join our team at Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support for persons with disabilities: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities
  • Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.)
  • Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
  • Support for Veterans: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Veterans
  • Support for Indigenous people: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Support for mature workers: Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
  • Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.)
