Job Summary

The Stores and Distribution Attendant plays a crucial role in the Provincial Health Services Authority's (PHSA) supply chain operations. This position is responsible for utilizing computerized applications to manage stores and distribution activities for a multi-site operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize internal requisitions from various sites and departments, maintaining related records by completing paperwork and keying data for recording inventory supply levels, internal requisitions, and pick lists.
  • Maintain the cart top-up system by checking cart or trolley supply levels against pre-established minimum/maximum quota levels, entering requisition data into computerized systems to convey when established re-order points are reached, and picking stock from stores inventory supply to replenish carts or trolleys as required.
  • Receive, unpack, and check incoming goods and materials, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with specifications, and complete related paperwork.
  • Maintain stores inventory supply records for carts or trolleys and stores shelving by labeling, and adding or deleting data and inventory items as directed and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Marshal supplies and equipment in loading or temporary storage areas. Assemble loads, load carts, bins, and/or trolleys, and transport and ship a variety of goods, supplies, and equipment to and from designated areas, sites, and departments.
  • Identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers and complete appropriate documentation.
  • In accordance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations, deliver, pick up, ship, and transport a variety of supplies and equipment by operating a truck and a varied fleet of powered equipment and carts. Complete required documentation.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance functions on vehicles and equipment, such as securing load, cleaning, checking, lubricating, and topping up fluids. Maintain vehicle documentation, including recommending repair or replacement as necessary.
  • Participate in inventory activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, one (1) year recent, related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
