Job Summary

The Environmental Services Worker supports the Environmental Services department in various cleaning and disinfecting duties. These include cleaning and disinfecting equipment, cleaning of all clinical, public, and support areas of the facility, project cleaning, distribution and collection of linens, collection of waste materials and recycling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Environmental Services department in various cleaning and disinfecting duties
  • Clean and disinfect equipment, clinical, public, and support areas of the facility
  • Participate in project cleaning, distribution, and collection of linens
  • Collect waste materials and recycling
  • Follow written and verbal job instructions and meet strict timelines
  • Carry out correct lifting and carrying techniques
  • Complete Code White Training
  • Process own computer-based work orders and email
  • Respond to Brightshores contingency codes
  • Adhere to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies
  • Advocate and support a culture of patient safety

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions and meet strict timelines
  • Ability to carry out correct lifting and carrying techniques
  • Willingness and ability to complete Code White Training
  • Ability to process own computer-based work orders and email
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends
  • Ability to wear appropriate footwear and personal protective equipment
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
