Job Summary

The Environmental Services Worker supports the Environmental Services department in various cleaning and disinfecting duties. This includes cleaning and disinfecting equipment, cleaning of all clinical, public, and support areas of the facility, project cleaning, distribution and collection of linens, collection of waste materials, and recycling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and disinfecting duties in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment, including but not limited to, wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids.
  • Clean and disinfect all clinical, public, and support areas of the facility, including but not limited to, patient rooms, common areas, and staff areas.
  • Participate in project cleaning, including but not limited to, deep cleaning of high-touch areas and special event cleaning.
  • Distribute and collect linens, including but not limited to, patient linens and staff linens.
  • Collect and dispose of waste materials, including but not limited to, trash and recyclables.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including but not limited to, vacuum cleaners, mops, and disinfecting machines.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
  • Participate in Code White Training and respond to all Brightshores contingency codes.
  • Adhere to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies.

Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions and meet strict timelines.
  • Ability to carry out correct lifting and carrying techniques.
  • Willingness and ability to complete Code White Training.
  • Ability to process own computer-based work orders and email.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends.
  • Ability to wear appropriate footwear and personal protective equipment.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
