About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled News Department Manager to join our team at 2271645 ALBERTA INC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our news department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategy
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
    • Lead and manage a team of news professionals to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Production and Scheduling
    • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of news content
    • Collaborate with editors, producers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth production processes
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability and growth
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance to inform business decisions
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field (e.g. journalism, communications, business)
    • At least 1 year of experience in a news department management role
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to analyze financial data and make informed business decisions
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
