Safety Operations Manager

Delnor Construction, a leader in construction excellence, is seeking an experienced Safety Operations Manager to join our team.
With over 40 years of legacy in delivering exceptional projects, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and stakeholders. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Job DescriptionThis challenging role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can provide field support and administer the health and safety management system. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting regular site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Recommending and assisting with implementation of corrective actions and controls
- Assisting with site critical task planning, including crane lifts and fall protection systems
- Assisting with site emergency response planning
- Developing safe work practices and safety job procedures
- Providing general site safety guidance and support
- Leading incident investigations, utilizing DNV SCAT
- Conducting onsite quality review of Supervision safety documentation
- Recommending disciplinary action to Supervision where non-compliance is observed
- Providing coaching on safety legislation and Delnor safety program to Supervision
- Assisting with annual COR audits
- Conducting internal training, where qualified
You will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subcontractors to ensure a collaborative and effective safety culture.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- NCSO certification
- Valid First Aid certification
- OHS-related education (an asset)
- Tap Root Investigation Certificate (an asset)
- Audit experience (an asset)
- 3-5 years' experience in an active field safety role, specifically commercial construction
You must also have a valid driver's license and own vehicle, as travel is required for this position.
CompensationThe estimated salary range for this role is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
