About the Role
The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Subsidy Clerk. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the childcare subsidy team, ensuring the integrity of data, records, and services provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to requests and applications for programs and services, including requests for more information from childcare subsidy applicants, returning phone calls and emails, and following up on inquiries to the department.
- Enter applications into the database.
- Provide general office administrative support to Licensing Services.
- Retrieve complaints from the complaint line, follow up on the complainants, and enter details into the AMANDA system.
- Maintain spreadsheets, data entry tracking forms, complete reports as requested.
- Periodically provide support to other departments to assist in staff coverage.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have 4 years of related experience or previous administrative experience in an office environment. You will possess strong organizational skills and customer service skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize work. You must have exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to address and manage client dissatisfaction professionally and courteously.
You will work well independently or as part of a team, depending on the nature of the work involved. You must have exceptional organizational skills when following procedures, the ability to complete multiple tasks during times of high work volume, and client inquiries. You must have excellent time management skills, identifying top priorities and paying direct attention to critical tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
You must also exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
We may assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interviews, and reference checks.
