Job Title: Executive Pastry Chef

The Pastry Peddler is seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry department and ensuring the highest quality of our baked goods and desserts.

Job Summary:
  • Lead the pastry department and oversee the production of high-quality baked goods and desserts.
  • Develop and implement new menu items and recipes to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Supervise and train pastry staff to ensure excellent customer service and quality control.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious menu items.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for pastry staff.
  • Supervise activities of pastry staff, including specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and plan menus to ensure quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements:
  • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic kitchen environment.
