Program Assistant, Adult Day Programs

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Program Assistant to join our Adult Day Programs team at Baycrest. As a Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective direct care and support to our program members, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and support to program members, including assisting with daily activities, managing behaviors, and promoting socialization and engagement.
- Support the delivery of in-person and virtual programs related to health and wellness, including planning and conducting assigned programs and initiating new programs and special events.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each program member.
- Provide transportation support to program members, including escorting them to and from the program and ensuring their safety during transportation.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with program members, their families, and other care providers.
- Current P.S.W. certificate from a recognized community college or educational institute or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in program activation, recreation, and virtual program delivery.
- Activation Diploma preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Certificate in Dementia Care preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team, effectively managing challenging situations.
