Job Title: Assistant Superintendent of Staff Support

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as Assistant Superintendent of Staff Support. This is a key role that will play a critical part in shaping the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Staff Support and Relations Department, fostering a culture of positivity, support, and service excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies, programs, and initiatives that promote staff well-being, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Lead the division's efforts in equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring these principles are embedded in all practices and organizational culture.
  • Champion truth and reconciliation initiatives within the division, working to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and incorporating Indigenous perspectives into our practices.
  • Oversee staff relations, including conflict resolution, employee support services, and professional development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in human resources and staff support.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders to identify and address staff needs and concerns.
  • Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for personnel in the department.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of staff support programs and initiatives, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Represent the division in negotiations and labour relations matters, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all staff.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Must have experience as a school principal.
  • Extensive experience in human resources, staff support, or a related area, preferably within the education sector.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a deep understanding of truth and reconciliation Calls to Action.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and employee relations.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
