About the Role:
  • This is a permanent position requiring 40-44 hours of work per week.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation is necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials.
  • Operating mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials.
  • Driving pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures using pile driving cranes.
  • Instructing apprentices in the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Assembling tower cranes on-site.
  • Moving objects and materials at railway yards using locomotive cranes.
  • Assisting in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Lifting, moving, and placing plant machinery and materials using bridge or overhead cranes.
  • Unloading and reloading supply vessels using offshore oil rig cranes.
  • Cleaning and piling salvaged materials.
  • Performing routine maintenance work.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Tending or feeding machines or equipment used in construction.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.
  • Repetitive movements of hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, and noise.
Personal Suitability:
  • Accurate and reliable in performing tasks.
  • Dependable and flexible in adapting to changing situations.
  • Hardworking and committed to meeting deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • An estimated salary of $60,000 to $80,000 per annum based on experience.
