Job Summary:

The Food Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, including managing staff, maintaining high-quality food and service standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant's profits
  • Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
  • Evaluate daily operations and make adjustments as needed
  • Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including staff schedules and inventory management
  • Recruit and train staff to ensure high-quality service
  • Set staff work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Supervise staff and address any performance issues
  • Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage events and ensure smooth execution
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in food services management
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and dependability
