Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker 3 to join the Allied Health team at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation, education, and mentorship to ensure practice and organizational compliance with the Adult Guardianship Act (AGA).
- Develop decision support tools and policies to improve practice, analyzing current literature and national trends.
- Consult, mentor, and educate staff on abuse, neglect, and self-neglect, applying knowledge of resources and intervention strategies.
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited University.
- Post-graduate continuing education training in working with vulnerable/incapable adults.
- Five years' recent, related experience in working with adult abuse and neglect, including complex mental health and older adult populations.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Current BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for travel within the region, as required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of social work theory and practice.
- Thorough knowledge of social work methodologies, Adult Guardianship Act, and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct complex psychosocial assessments and communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed care, Indigenous Cultural Safety, and geriatrics.
